Nature Writing for Kids

Children are very connected to nature, animals, and their innate wisdom, but as they grow up, it is conditioned out of them. "Nature Writing for Kids" aims to maintain that connection and equip them with skills to live a life full of magic and passion.
In this space, we incorporate three modes of learning:

1
Discussions
Children sometimes struggle to translate their thoughts and ideas aloud. They feel like their voice is not important enough, and the sad truth is that they do not have a safe space to express freely. Here, I introduce abstract/philosophical concepts, and the kids practice expressing their thoughts. Under my gentle guidance, they also learn active listening and get to practice it. This section is a favourite among the parents and me, as we often get mind-blown when the kids casually drop a wisdom bomb.
2
Creative Writing
Having fun tapping into our creative sources is the essence of this section. We focus on developing their unique style and exploring various ways of packaging their ideas—not on English language skills.
3
Reflection
This section is woven into the programme. For instance, we always finish our classes with gratitude. The students are also introduced to self-reflection tools such as journaling and writing activities to help apply the lessons in their lives. Some students choose to work on personal goals (easing up on perfectionism, learning to work in teams, and becoming comfortable with public speaking, to name a few).
